Summary of Business

APRIL Group is a leading global producer of pulp and paper with operations in Riau Province, Indonesia, and a pioneer in the implementation of sustainability best practices in Indonesia’s pulp and paper industry.

Guided by its Sustainable Forest Management Policy, APRIL Group has a strict no-burn policy, conducts High Conservation Value (HCV) and High Carbon Stock (HCS) assessments, and eliminates deforestation in its supply chain. It works with an independent Stakeholder Advisory Committee on the implementation of its Policy commitments.

The company has a unique 1:1 goal to protect a hectare of high value conservation forest for every hectare of its renewable plantation. Today, APRIL Group conserves more than 250,000 hectares with a further 150,000 hectares undergoing ecosystem restoration, and is 83% close to achieving its goal.

APRIL Group’s integrated mill has one of the most eco-efficient processes in the world. More than 85% of energy used in the mills comes from renewable bio-fuel sources and over 90% of water utilized in the paper manufacturing processes is recycled. APRIL Group also has a waste water treatment facility that removes 95% of waste water contaminants through integrated clarified aeration basins.

APRIL Group’s paper products, including its flagship brand PaperOne™ premium quality home and office paper, are made from 100% renewable fibre from PEFC-certified plantations and sold in more than 70 countries worldwide.
